Job summary

GEA Germany GmbH in Vadodara, India, seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to create 3D models and 2D drawings for diverse products across GEA technologies. You will follow established drawing review processes and take ownership of your design drawings/models, delivering fabrication drawings and bills of materials.

The role requires hands-on CAD proficiency (Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD), knowledge of Vault integration, and familiarity with fabrication standards and equipment hygiene.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Experience with 2D & 3D CAD tools, preferably Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD (2023 or higher).
• Knowledge of the workflow between Autodesk Vault and Inventor is essential.
• Familiarity with fabrication drawings, welding symbols and surface treatment is preferred.
• Understanding equipment hygiene and sanitary requirements is important.
• Ability to read equipment specs, P&ID information and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in BOM creation and design fundamentals.
• Good command of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Experience with PDM & ERP systems such as Bluestar, Axapta, SAP is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver design drawings/models with accountability.

• Understanding the task and evaluating the required input from business.

• Creating product deliverables on transportation, lifting, service and other similar areas.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Objective of role Support the internal global customers for execution of engineering design tasks Design and drafting the products of sheet metal and/or machined parts Complete high-quality design projects on time and within the designated hourly budget Support in documenting the deliverables for various products within given technology scope.

• You hold Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience and knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD Tools.
• Preferably Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD 2023 or higher, knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D would be an added advantage.
• Must have knowledge of workflow and integration between Autodesk Vault and Autodesk Inventor.
• Must have knowledge of fabrication drawings, welding symbols & surface treatment.
• Knowledge of hygiene and sanitary requirement of equipment.
• Ability to read & understand Equipment specification, P&ID information & Engineering drawings.
• Technically sound in Design Fundamentals and BOM creation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Good knowledge of PDM & ERP system – Bluestar, Axapta, SAP would be an added advantage.
