Job summary

GEA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop 3D models and 2D drawings for sheet metal and machined parts using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. You will ensure drawings meet fabrication standards and integrate with Vault for BIM data management.

The role requires 3–5 years of mechanical design experience, strong CAD skills, and the ability to read P&ID and equipment specifications. Collaboration with global teams is essential, with a focus on timely, quality project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with 2D & 3D CAD tools, preferably Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD 2023.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Vault integration with Inventor.
• Knowledge of fabrication drawings, welding symbols & surface treatments.
• Understanding hygiene and sanitary equipment requirements.
• Ability to read equipment specs, P&ID and engineering drawings.
• Proficient in BOM creation and design fundamentals.
• MS Office proficiency; familiarity with PDM/ERP (Bluestar, Axapta, SAP) is a plus.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Objective of role

Support the internal global customers for execution of engineering design tasks

Design and drafting the products of sheet metal and/or machined parts

Complete high-quality design projects on time and within the designated hourly budget

Support in documenting the deliverables for various products within given technology scope.

Mandatory Qualifications

• You hold Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience and knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD Tools. Preferably Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD 2023 or higher, knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D would be an added advantage.
• Must have knowledge of workflow and integration between Autodesk Vault and Autodesk Inventor.
• Must have knowledge of fabrication drawings, welding symbols & surface treatment.
• Knowledge of hygiene and sanitary requirement of equipment.
• Ability to read & understand Equipment specification, P&ID information & Engineering drawings.
• Technically sound in Design Fundamentals and BOM creation
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Good knowledge of PDM & ERP system - Bluestar, Axapta, SAP would be an added advantage.
