Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Maharashtra, India seeks an experienced Embedded Hardware Design Lead to drive complex hardware development from schematic to prototype validation. The role emphasizes FPGA/Microcontroller work, high-speed interfaces, and rigorous testing.

You will prototype, validate, and troubleshoot mixed-signal boards, review layouts for SI/PI, and coordinate with vendors to deliver manufacturing-ready designs. A hands-on, detail-oriented engineer is essential.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Electronics & Communications; ME/MTech in Electronics/Embedded systems
• Hands-on experience in embedded hardware design and development
• Strong understanding of Digital Electronics, Microcontrollers, Processors, FPGA interfaces, and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, RS422/485, SSI, CAN, Ethernet)

Responsibilities

• Embedded Hardware Design using FPGA / Microcontroller.
• High-speed ADC/DAC interface, Ethernet, DDR memory interface design
• Design and development of Mixed signal circuit boards
• Schematic design, Review of the component placement and layout
• Design and development of hardware for various interfaces & communication protocols (Ethernet, Serial, CAN, VME, VPX etc.)
• Subsystem integration & Testing
• Hands-on experience on using Test Equipment (DSO, AFG, Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyser)
• Review PCB layouts for signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, isolation, and manufacturability.
• Select electronic components and perform design calculations, derating, and optimization.
• Develop, assemble, and validate prototype PCBs.
• Coordinate with PCB designers and fabrication/assembly vendors for successful implementation.
• Perform hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Generate engineering documentation including BOMs, design reports, test procedures, and manufacturing packages.

Job Profile

Experience & Skills Required

• 8+ years of experience in hardware design and development involving FPGA/Microcontroller and mixed signal hardware
• Hands-on experience in PCB development tools such as Cadence – Capture, Allegro, Mentor graphics tools
• Experience in multilayer PCB development
• Good understanding of EMI/EMC design requirements and mitigation techniques as per MIL-STD-461.
• Strong debugging skills using Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, and other lab instruments.
