Job summary

Source-Right in Bengaluru seeks a Hardware Design Engineer with 4–8 years in automotive embedded hardware. You will design analog/digital/mixed-signal circuits, perform schematic capture, and lead board bring-up.

You’ll prepare test plans, ECO/ECRs, and ensure EMI/EMC compliance, while coordinating with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Altium, LTSpice, and high-speed interfaces is required; FPGA/PLM exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in automotive embedded hardware design.
• Experience in schematic capture, board bring-up and testing.
• Knowledge of EBOMs, variants, and PLM-related tasks.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer and circuit simulations.
• Familiarity with EMC/EMI considerations and debugging.

Job description

Position: Hardware Design Engineer (TT40SI RM 4416)

Required Experience : BE/ME/ M.Tech in Electronics Engineering with 4 to 8 years of relevent experience in Automotive embedded hardware design.

Key Responsibility

• Understanding customer requirements and coming up with a detailed requirement document.
• Well-versed in schematic capture and review
• Expert in preparing engineering documents like Test plan, Test report, preparing presentations to convey the technical details related to Project progress and generating ECO & ECR’s etc.
• Well-versed in board bring-up activites, testing and debugging boards received from counter part or newly manufactured boards.
• Expertise in generating EBOM’s with its variants, knowledge of different electronic/electrical components its parameters and obsolescence management, cost reduction ideas and managing them in relevent Database, which needs awareness of working with PLM tools.
• Working closely with cross-functional team to achieve assigned project/activity targets within limits of time, cost and quality.

Technical Skills Required

• Hands on experience in Analog, Digital, mixed signal circuit design, development, testing. Mainly into automotive digital circuit designing.
• Good working knowledge on Microcontrollers and microprocessors based system designing and FPGA based designing.
• Good working Knowledge in analog circuit simulations.
• Very good at Schematic entry and layout review and provide directions to layout engineer.
• Should have good technical & working knowledge in highspeed interfaces – DDR3/4/5, MIPI, FPD Link , Automotive Ethernet 100/1000T1 and Ethernet 100/1000T , PCI & PCIe.
• Working knowledge in Communication protocols like I2C, SPI, USB, LIN and CAN-FD.
• SI/PI simulation using Hyperlynx or SIWave (Nice to have)
• Experience in understanding EMC/EMI issues, debug and provide solutions. (Nice to have)
• Experienced in using common lab equipment’s like Precision DMM’s, High frequency DSO’s logic analyzers and should have soldering knowledge on basic components like SMD resistors, capacitors etc.
• Should have hands-on experience in the Industry standard tools usage:
• Schematics capture – Altium designer 22+
• Circuit simulation – LT spice, Saber or equivalent
• DFMEA – Madini (optional, is an added advantage)
