Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and analytical Senior Hardware Engineer with over 8 years of proven expertise in electronics design. In this role, you will take a lead position in the architecture, design, development, and validation of low-power, high-reliability embedded hardware and RF circuits operating in harsh automotive environments. You will play a pivotal role bridging the gap between initial concept architectures and high-volume mass production, ensuring all products meet stringent international automotive reliability and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware Architecture & Schematic Design: Lead the design and development of complex multi-layer PCBAs, specializing in ultra-low-power microcontrollers, advanced power management architectures (PMICs), and optimized discrete component selection.
- RF & Antenna Integration: Design, simulate, and optimize RF circuits and integrated antennas for automotive telematics (LF, UHF, Bluetooth Low Energy, Ultra-Wideband), ensuring maximum signal integrity and meeting stringent power budget targets.
- Simulation & Reliability Analysis: Conduct systematic Worst-Case Analysis (WCA), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and advanced thermal/signal integrity simulations to guarantee decade-long reliability in rugged vehicle environments.
- Testing, Bring-up & Validation: Own the entire hardware verification and validation lifecycle. Design automated test benches, perform hardware bring-up of prototype iterations, and lead complex debugging initiatives.
- Compliance & Regulatory Certification: Drive products through automotive EMC/EMI qualification standards (e.g., CISPR 25, ISO 7637, ISO 11452) as well as global wireless regulatory certifications (CE, FCC, RED).
- Cross-Functional Technical Leadership: Partner closely with Embedded Software, Mechanical Engineering, and Factory Operations teams to ensure seamless system integration and robust Design for Manufacturing / Design for Testing (DFM/DFT).
- Mentorship & Quality Standards: Guide and mentor junior-to-mid-level hardware engineers, enforcing engineering excellence through rigorous schematic and layout peer reviews.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, RF Engineering, or a strictly related technical discipline.
- Experience: 8 plus years of hands-on experience in hardware electronics design, with a strong preference for backgrounds in automotive, aerospace, or rugged industrial IoT sectors.
- EDA Tools: High proficiency with industry-standard professional PCB design suites, preferably Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or Mentor Graphics.
- Wireless Expertise: Solid, demonstrable understanding of RF design principles, impedance matching networks, Smith chart optimization, and wireless communication protocols (BLE, UWB, Sub-GHz, or LF/UHF infrastructure).
- Laboratory Equipment: Expert-level capability with diagnostic tools, including High-Bandwidth Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), and Arbitrary Signal Generators.
