Job Purpose
Design Heat Exchanger
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Handle team size of 3 to 4 engineers
- Lead and execute mechanical design activities for new product development from concept to production.
- Prepare concept designs, detailed designs, and engineering calculations.
- Perform tolerance analysis, stack-up analysis, and design optimization.
- Perform mechanical design calculations in compliance with applicable industry codes and standards such as ASME, API, and EN.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings ensuring accuracy and adherence to design requirements.
- Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) for assigned products and projects.
- Prepare Purchase Order Specifications (POS) for procurement activities.
- Create and compile Manufacturer's Data Reports (MDR) for U-Stamp and code-compliant jobs.
- Prepare engineering documentation and verify product designs to ensure conformance with ASME/API standards.
- Support design activities such as reviewing design calculations, FEA reports, and other engineering analyses.
- Collaborate with customers to resolve technical queries, comments, and design-related issues.
- Participate in internal and external audits and prepare all necessary supporting documentation.
- Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and risk assessments.
- Support cost reduction, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work in collaboration with global technical development teams

- Execute any additional tasks assigned by the company from time to time, ensuring completion within the stipulated timelines.
- Ensure timely preparation, compilation, and submission of all required engineering and project documentation.
- Demonstrate flexibility by supporting and working across various functions within the Design Department as needed.
Competencies
- Strong understanding of core mechanical engineering principles and their application in design.
- Solid material knowledge, including material properties, suitability, and code requirements.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on design and fabrication.
- Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ASME and PED.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Production and Quality teams to understand and resolve manufacturing-related issues.
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
Experience & Skills
- Proficient in engineering software such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and SAP.
- Hands-on experience in the design of Heat Exchangers, including familiarity with thermal and mechanical design aspects.
- 7-8 years of experience in static equipment design and detailed engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or EPC environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- BE (Mechanical) and equivalent.
