Job Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented HVAC Machines Sr. Design Engineer with strong expertise in 3D modeling and drafting using SolidWorks and AutoDesk tools (Inventor/AutoCAD Mechanical). The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and managing mechanical designs of HVAC equipment such as Chillers, AHUs, FCUs, Pressure Vessels, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Compressors, Piping & Valve selection, etc., ensuring manufacturability, accuracy, and adherence to engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure design projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Create models of current mechanical designs / P&I utilizing SolidWorks.
- Take a sketched concept and design a 3D model using SolidWorks.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to understand design requirements and provide solutions to design challenges.
- Work with project managers on designs and estimate time to design and detail projects.
- Convert 2D layouts to 3D layouts & detailing which includes pressure vessels with nozzles, centrifugal pumps, chillers, refrigeration systems, and various types of valves.
- Confirm the arrival of Bill of Materials and upload to central system.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for production.
- Stay up-to-date with new SolidWorks features and techniques, and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Have basic knowledge of various types of refrigeration systems.
- Understand sheet metal design, fabrication, GD&T ASME Y14.5, and part design.
Required Skills
- 5–8 years of experience in HVAC product design using SolidWorks and/or AutoDesk.
- Experience in the field of pressure vessel, refrigeration, chillers or equivalent and allied piping and pumping system design.
- Strong understanding of HVAC components, sheet metal design, welding practices, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to generate accurate and production‑ready drawings and BOMs.
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems and drawing management workflows.
- Understanding of thermal insulation, noise attenuation, or vibration isolation in HVAC systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Certified in SolidWorks and/or AutoDesk.
- Exposure to ERP/BOM integration tools.
