Job summary

Technosoft Engineering Projects Ltd. seeks a senior mechanical design engineer with 10–15 years of experience to lead HVAC product design. You will design with SolidWorks and Creo, perform CAD, FEA, CFD analyses, and ensure DFMA/DFMEA while meeting manufacturability and cost targets.

The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, strong communication, and travel for overseas assignments. A B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• HANDS-on experience with HVAC equipment (AHU, chillers, RTUs).
• Design balance manufacturability, cost, performance & durability.
• Knowledge of GD&T and standards (ANSI, JIS, DIN).
• Lead cross-functional engineering teams and communicate effectively.
• Develop prototypes, test, and finalize designs for mass production.
• DFMA/DFMEA considerations in design & cost targets.

Role & responsibilities :

• Hands-on experience with HVAC equipment such as AHU, Chillers, and RTUs.
• Strong proficiency in Sheet Metal Design using SolidWorks.
• Capable of driving HVAC system and product design with a strong focus on CAD, FEA, CFD analysis, and PDM governance.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams.
• Quick learner with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Create design concepts and drawings to determine the best product and maintain technical compatibility to develop concepts into real products.
• Understand the requirements and work with different teams to implement new ideas.
• Present product ideas to relevant team members for brainstorming
• Perform market research to understand market requirements and initiate innovative product development.
• Analyze new components, materials, and technologies to evaluate functionality for all new product development.
• The design considers manufacturability, cost, performance, and durability.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary product launch teams to facilitate product launch as per research findings and in the appropriate market.
• Develop and review design prototypes, perform the test and finalize product design to facilitate mass production.
• Knowledge in GD&T, stack-up analysis, different industrial standards like ANSI, JIS, DIN, etc.
• Design product considering DFM, DFMA & DFMEA as well cost, performance and durability.
• Close coordination with customers.
• Manage the design, prototyping, and testing of products to ensure they meet the guidelines for standards and functionality.
• Involve in sampling materials for the final product, utilizing CAD software to create designs, and determining the process guidelines for optimum functionality.
• Should be highly experienced in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Creo
• Should conceptualize ideas and create designs based around them.
• Should have excellent communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
• Comply with Design control and Stage gate processes while designing prototypes and products.

Preferred candidate profile :

• A good grasp of engineering and design principles.
• 5-6 years of core experience in Product design (Plastic, sheet metal design, material handling equipment design, etc.)
• HVAC System design, Fan selection, coil design etc
• Knowledge in GD&T, Stack-up analysis.
• Good knowledge of any of the 3D modeling software (SolidWorks / Pro-E etc).
• Excellent eye for aesthetic design and customer appeal.
• Excellent communication skills and good team working skills.
• Good understanding of color science and combinations.
• Artistic and innovative flair.
• Strong knowledge of the industry and market trends.
• Able to sit in front of a computer for long hours at a time.
• Willing to travel overseas for short and long assignments.
