Job summary

Hill International is seeking a senior cost estimator with 15–20 years of experience in building projects. The role involves advanced quantity take-offs across MEP works, cost planning, tendering, and contract review to support client objectives.

You will lead a team, benchmark costs against budgets, and influence procurement strategies while applying CAD, Cost-X, and other quantification tools to ensure accurate estimates across residential, commercial, hotel, and healthcare developments.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of building project experience.
• Proficiency in CAD, Cost-X and other take-off tools.
• Experience with cost plans, tenders, and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review cost plans at multiple stages.
• Quantify and benchmark BOQs against budgets.
• Lead pricing across Electrical, Mechanical, and other trades.
• Review and audit measurements; guide junior team members.

Job description

Undertake quantity works for Building projects - Residential, Commercial, Hotel, Hospital, Fitout, Industry / warehouse (depending on project requirement)

• Perform advanced quantification across complete MEP works Electrical, HVAC, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, DG, Lift, IBMS.
• Draft or modify trade-specific preambles, quantify preliminaries and general items, review cost plan quantities, audit team measurements.
• Apply suitable assumptions (when required) where project information is incomplete.
• Lead preparation and review of cost plans at various stages and tender estimates.
• Analyse and evaluate items of work unit rates to project specifics by incorporating risk factors.
• Carryout benchmark against similar projects, price preliminaries, reconcile BOQs with budgets, and provide input on cost strategies, sustainability elements, and fee allowances.
• Oversee and review pricing work prepared by junior team members.
• Advise on procurement strategies and contract selection based on project needs. Draft or review special contract conditions, manage end-to-end tender processes, review documentation and reports, and present to Client.

• Prepare formal correspondences such as letters of intent, award, or agreement.
• Provide guidance to junior team.
• Oversee post-contract cost management, including review and approval of payment recommendations, cost reports, and cash flow forecasts and present to Client.
• Establish change control protocols, advise on risk mitigation, evaluate claims and variations, monitor expenditure of provisional sums, and review Final Account Statement.
• Lead and support junior team members in cost control tasks.
• Apply working knowledge of construction technologies and methods in cost planning tasks.
• Assess cost implications of materials, labour and construction methods during design and execution stages.
• Should be proficient in CAD, Cost-X (qty take off tools) and other quantification / estimation software.

Good skills on MS excel and word and ability to learn and adapt to customized software

Qualification- Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience- Minimum 15-20 years’ experience with building projects
