Job summary

Hill International, Inc. invites applications for a Quantity Surveyor to undertake quantity take-offs and cost planning for building projects including residential, commercial, hotel, hospital and industrial works.

The role requires proficiency in Cost-X, AutoCAD and other quantification software, with strong MS Excel/Word skills and a solid understanding of tenders, bills of quantities and cost reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in quantity take-offs and cost estimation preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Undertake quantity take-offs for Electrical, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, HVAC works.
• Use Cost-X, AutoCAD and other tools for quantity take-off and data transfer to BOQs.
• Prepare and validate Bills of Quantities and assist cost estimation.
• Support tendering processes and cost control documentation.
• Assist in cost reporting, cashflow forecasting and final accounts.

Undertake quantity works for Building projects - Residential, Commercial, Hotel, Hospital, Fitout, Industry / warehouse (depending on project requirement)

Responsibilities

• Undertake quantity take-offs for Electrical, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, HVAC works using applicable standards.
• Use software tools (e.g., Cost X, AutoCAD) for quantity take-off and summarize quantities, transfer data into BOQs or cost plans including carrying out bulk checks.
• Draft or Validate Bills of Quantities including carrying out bulk checks.
• Support cost estimation activities by identifying basic material and labour rates and understanding rate analysis for standard work items.
• Having basic understanding on tendering process and documentation
• Prepare interim payment recommendations, maintain cost control documentation, and manage change control processes.
• Contribute to cost reporting, cashflow forecasting, valuation of variations, tracking of risk allowances, and preparation of final accounts.
• Apply working knowledge of construction technologies and methods in cost planning tasks.
• Assess cost implications of materials, labour and construction methods during design and execution stages.
• Should be good in CAD, Cost-X (qty take off tools) and other quantification / estimation software.
• Good skills on MS excel and word and ability to learn and adapt to customized software
