Job summary

Hill-International,-Inc seeks a Quantity Take-off engineer to perform quantity surveys for Building projects, including Residential, Commercial, Hotels and more. You will use AutoCAD and Cost-X to prepare detailed quantities and transfer data into BOQs or cost plans, ensuring accuracy through bulk checks.

The role requires 4–6 years of building project experience, with abilities in financial documentation, tendering basics, and cost control processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 4–6 years’ experience with building projects.
• Experience with quantity take-offs and cost estimation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Undertake quantity take-offs for Electrical, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, HVAC works.
• Use Cost X, AutoCAD for take-off and summarize quantities into BOQs.
• Draft or validate Bills of Quantities including bulk checks.
• Support cost estimation by identifying basic material and labour rates.
• Understand tendering processes and documentation basics.
• Prepare interim payment recommendations and manage change control.
• Contribute to cost reporting, cashflow forecasting and final accounts.
• Basic knowledge of building components and MEP construction methods.
• Be proficient in CAD and Cost-X and learn other estimation software.
• Be strong in MS Excel/Word and adapt to customized software.

Undertake quantity works for Building projects - Residential, Commercial, Hotel, Hospital, Fitout, Industry / warehouse (depending on project requirement)

Responsibilities

• Undertake quantity take-offs for Electrical, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, HVAC works using applicable standards.
• Use software tools (e.g., Cost X, AutoCAD) for quantity take-off and summarize quantities, transfer data into BOQs or cost plans including carrying out bulk checks.
• Draft or Validate Bills of Quantities including carrying out bulk checks.
• Support cost estimation activities by identifying basic material and labour rates and understanding rate analysis for standard work items.
• Having basic understanding on tendering process and documentation.
• Prepare interim payment recommendations, maintain cost control documentation, and manage change control processes.
• Contribute to cost reporting, cashflow forecasting, valuation of variations, tracking of risk allowances, and preparation of final accounts.
• Having basic knowledge of key building components and construction methods in construction related to MEP works.
• Should be good in CAD, Cost-X (qty take off tools) and other quantification / estimation software.
• Good skills on MS excel and word and ability to learn and adapt to customized software.
