Hitachi Vantara India Private Limited in Bengaluru is seeking a Sr. Consultant to support FP&A reporting and data transformation. You will help migrate existing financial reports to Snowflake and a new data platform while ensuring accuracy and continuity of reporting.

The role requires strong accounting knowledge, SAP finance data, month-end close, and finance master data expertise. The position involves predominantly remote work with critical on-site phases and a 12-month contract.

Work

Work is primarily remote, but there will be critical phases of the projects when they would want the resource to come into the Bangalore office. Hours - Contractor must be a bit flexible as the hours can vary based on the phase of the project. Initial duration - 12 months, but this is a long-term ongoing project.

Role

The Sr. Consultant will support FP&A reporting, financial data management, reconciliation, and the ongoing modernization of the FP&A reporting landscape. A key focus of the role will be supporting the migration of existing financial reports and data processes to Snowflake and the new data platform, while ensuring financial accuracy and continuity of reporting. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting, financial reconciliations, month-end financial close, SAP financial data, and finance master data. The individual should be able to understand financial data flows, reconcile reporting results back to source financial systems, investigate discrepancies, and work with stakeholders to resolve data and reporting issues. The position will also be cross-trained as a backup for critical FP&A COE Reporting Delivery activities, particularly month-end data processing, reconciliations, and recurring financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance FP&A financial reports and dashboards.
• Support the migration of financial reporting and data processes to Snowflake/new data platforms, including validation and reconciliation of migrated data.
• Perform financial reconciliations between SAP, Snowflake, and other financial reporting systems, investigating and resolving differences.
• Support month-end financial close, including data validation, reconciliation, and reporting activities.
• Understand financial data flows and master data across source and reporting systems.
• Partner with Finance and FP&A stakeholders to troubleshoot reporting, mapping, master-data, and data-quality issues.
• Identify opportunities to standardize, simplify, and improve reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Become cross-trained on designated critical team activities and provide backup coverage when required.

Must-Have Skills

• 7+ years of experience in FP&A, Finance, Accounting, financial reporting, analytics, or related roles.
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting concepts.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with financial reconciliations and data validation.
• Good understanding of month-end financial close processes and associated reporting timelines.
• Working knowledge of SAP financial data and the ability to reconcile reporting results back to SAP/source financial systems.
• Good understanding of finance master data, including GL accounts, cost centers, profit centers, legal entities, hierarchies, and financial mappings.
• Experience supporting financial reporting solutions, preferably Power BI and Excel/Power Query.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate financial data discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Ability to work effectively during critical month-end close and reporting cycles.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Snowflake and financial data/reporting migrations to modern data platforms.
• Experience querying data using SQL for analysis, validation, and reconciliation.
• Experience with Power BI development and financial reporting.
• Exposure to Anaplan, HANA, HFM, Management Reporting, or similar finance and reporting platforms.
• Experience with financial data transformation, master-data mappings, and reporting-system integrations.
• Experience improving or automating financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
