Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an experienced Medical Coder to translate clinical diagnoses and procedures into ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes.

The role requires 2+ years of coding experience, AAPC/AHIMA certification, and the ability to meet monthly targets with high accuracy. You will work with the coding team to ensure timely turnaround and strict adherence to client guidelines.

Qualifications

• Certified in CPC, COC, or CCS (AAPC/AHIMA)
• Minimum 2+ years of medical coding experience
• Strong ability to interpret medical records across specialties
• Excellent speed and accuracy in ICD-10-CM and CPT coding

Responsibilities

• Transform diagnoses and procedures into ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Maintain daily coding volumes within Turnaround Time.
• Adhere to client guidelines and coding guidelines for quality and productivity.
• Match monthly targets with high accuracy (≥95%).
• Participate in weekly QA/Team meetings and provide feedback to QA/Team Lead.
• Collaborate with the coding team and work independently when needed.

What You Will Do

• Accurately transforms medical diagnoses and procedures into designated alphanumerical codes in ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure that the daily coding volumes for the team are turned around accurately within the specified Turnaround Time.
• Checking input volumes allotted by TL
• Coding reports as per client guidelines and coding guidelines by maintaining operational quality and productivity.
• Regular interaction with TL and getting feedbacks.
• This position requires that one performs well independently and in a collaborative manner with their entire coding team.
• Understands in detail the workflow, procedures and specific criteria for the assigned client.
• Ensures he/she meets the monthly target with above 95% accuracy consistently
• Attend the Weekly QA / Team meetings without fail and respond in two-way communication with the Quality analyst/Team Lead.

What You Will Need

• Any Life science, Paramedical Graduates and Post Graduates
• Minimum Experience: 2+ year experience.
• Strong ability to interpret medical records of the patients in different specialties.
• Must be certified from AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, CCS)
• Ability to communicate, have excellent interpersonal, listening skills and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with speed and accuracy.
• Good analytic skills and expertise to be proficient in accurately coding medical records utilizing ICD-10-CM and CPT conventions especially emergency room coding, ED with EM Injection Infusion work types.
