Job summary

SAN Engineering Solutions in Bengaluru, India, seeks a Certification Engineer to lead certification planning, documentation, and coordination for modification projects. The role requires deep knowledge of FAR and FAA processes and interaction with regulatory bodies.

The candidate will develop and manage test plans, conformity inspections, and data packages for airworthiness compliance, while coordinating with customers and suppliers to resolve certification issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in aerospace or mechanical engineering required or strongly preferred.
• 4–7 years of experience in an engineering role; internships may count.
• Knowledge of aircraft certification processes and substantiation techniques.
• Strong computer skills; proficient with MS Office programs.
• Familiarity with aircraft mechanical/structural design processes, materials, fabrication methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop certification plans, compliance checklists, and conformity inspection plans.
• Develop substantiation reports and test plans/reports for flammability and cabin safety.
• Draft certification presentations and manage small STC/PMA projects including data deliverables from suppliers.
• Identify applicable airworthiness requirements for proposed major design changes.
• Support relationships with FAA regulatory agencies via project presentations.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders regarding certification of modification projects.

Job description

1. B.S. in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related scientific field strongly preferred.

2. Four (4) to seven (7) years overall work experience in an engineering role. Engineering internships and Co-op assignments may be applied to experience requirements.

3. Must possess some knowledge of aircraft certification processes and substantiation techniques.

4. Must have strong computer skills and demonstrate proficiency with MS Office programs.

5. Must be familiar with aircraft mechanical/structural design processes, materials, fabrication methods and aerospace hardware.

Preferred:

1. 1. Knowledge of aircraft interiors.
2. 2. Experience as a certification engineer, design engineer, or substantiation engineer.

Top 3 Skills Needed:

1. 1. Working Knowledge of FAR regulations and aircraft certification
2. 2. Preparing and reviewing certification documents e.g. PSCP, test plans etc.
3. 3. Experience working with FAA DER’s & DAR’s.
