The ideal candidate will drive sourcing strategies, present recommendations in governance forums, and mentor junior buyers while ensuring compliance across VW India policies.

• Manage sourcing end-to-end for assigned commodities: requirement review, RFQ release, evaluation, negotiation, and PO coordination.
• Lead medium, high-value sourcing topics with multiple stakeholders, varying requirements and delivery timelines.
• Review business requirements with user departments to clarify scope, KPIs, SLAs, and terms before RFQ.
• Prepare commercial evaluations: price comparisons, total-cost analyses, and benchmarking.
• Develop and execute negotiation strategies: target setting, cost breakdowns, and payment terms.
• Prepare sourcing recommendations and globe presentations documenting rationale, savings, risks, options, and final decision.
• Present procurement topics in approval forums (ISC, Pre-Meetings, RSC, CSC) and incorporate feedback.
• Guide Buyers on complex cases, reviewing strategy and analysis while preserving ownership.
• Ensure procurement governance and audit compliance with full documentation and approvals.
• Support Category Manager/HOD in stakeholder management, escalations, and process improvements.

Job description

1. 1. Manage sourcing activities end-to-end for assigned commodities, including requirement review, bidder-list finalization, RFQ release, offer evaluation, negotiation, approval and PO co-ordination.
2. 2. Lead medium, high-value and complex sourcing topics involving multiple stakeholders, commercials parameters, unclear requirements, limited supplier options or challenging delivery timelines.
3. 3. Review and improve business requirements by working with user departments to ensure clarity of scope, deliverables, KPIs, SLAs, timelines, warranties, payment terms, and other commercial conditions before RFQ release.
4. 4. Prepare detailed commercial evaluations, including price comparisons, total-cost analysis, commercial-condition comparisons, budget checks and local/global benchmarking wherever relevant.
5. 5. Develop and execute negotiation strategies, including target setting, cost-breakdown analysis, negotiation sequencing, supplier positioning and optimization of prices, payment terms, penalties, warranties, and delivery conditions.
6. 6. Prepare and own sourcing recommendations and Globe presentations for assigned topics, ensuring that the commercial rationale, savings, risks, options, and final recommendation are clearly documented.
7. 7. Present or jointly present procurement topics in applicable approval forums such as ISC, Pre-Meetings, RSC and CSC, and ensure timely incorporation of management or forum feedback.
8. 8. Guide Buyers and Junior Buyers on complex cases by reviewing sourcing strategy, commercial analysis, negotiation preparation and documentation quality, without taking away the assigned buyer’s ownership.
9. 9. Ensure procurement governance and audit compliance, including complete sourcing documentation, required approvals, negotiation protocols, deviation controls and adherence to VW India/VW Group policies and processes.
10. 10. Support the Category Manager/HOD in stakeholder management, escalations and process improvement, and act as a delegated backup for PO checking/release and other critical procurement activities where required.
