Job summary

Softdel in Pune is seeking a Sr. Associate - Japanese Interpreter (JLPT N3 or above) to facilitate communication between Japanese clients and internal engineering teams.

The role focuses on technical translation, interpretation, documentation, and project coordination for embedded systems and industrial automation projects. You will translate documents between Japanese and English, provide real-time interpretation during meetings, and help prepare bilingual reports and customer communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Japanese Language, Engineering, IT, or related field preferred).
• JLPT N3 (Mandatory) or above (preferable N2).
• Excellent proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding Japanese and English.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Translate technical, business, and project-related documents between Japanese and English with high accuracy and consistency.
• Provide real-time interpretation during client meetings, technical discussions, presentations, and conference calls.
• Facilitate effective communication between Japanese customers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Prepare, review, and maintain technical documentation, reports, presentations, meeting minutes, and customer communications in Japanese and English.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support project execution and customer deliverables.
• Gain knowledge of Embedded systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), Cloud solution, BACnet protocol, and related technologies to effectively support technical discussions.
• Ensure linguistic quality, terminology consistency, and confidentiality in all translation and interpretation assignments.
• Support project coordination, scheduling, and customer communication throughout the project lifecycle.
