Job summary

Black & Grey HR is partnering with a leading contracting company in the Middle East to hire a Senior Architect for its design studio in Bangalore. You will lead design development for commercial, corporate, hospitality and retail fit-out projects from concept through construction documentation and site delivery.

The role requires 5-8 years of interior design experience, a strong portfolio, and proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• 5-8 years of architectural/interior design experience with strong portfolio.
• Experience with interior fit-out contractors or design consultancies preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept design and design development for interior fit-out projects.

• Translate concepts into schematic, design-development and GFC drawings.

Job description

Black & Grey HR is working with a leading contracting company in the Middle East that is hiring for its design studio in Bangalore. The Senior Architect will lead the design development and execution of commercial, corporate, hospitality and retail fit-out projects, from concept development through construction documentation and site delivery.

Key Requirements:

• Lead concept design and design development for interior fit-out projects, ensuring functional, aesthetic and commercially viable solutions.
• Prepare client presentations, mood boards, material palettes, space-planning layouts and design proposals; incorporate feedback effectively.
• Translate approved concepts into complete schematic, design-development and Good for Construction (GFC) drawing packages.
• Prepare and review architectural construction drawings, specifications, BOQs, joinery drawings and shop drawings.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, site teams, contractors and vendors to maintain design intent across all project stages.
• Review material submissions, samples and mock-ups to confirm compliance with approved design, quality and project requirements.
• Conduct site visits, resolve design-related site issues and support construction teams to ensure quality execution.
• Prepare and manage RFIs, meeting minutes and weekly design/progress reports.
• Coordinate closely with procurement, QS and construction teams to align design decisions with budget, technical constraints and delivery schedules.
• Plan design deliverables, lead internal design coordination meetings and ensure timely issue of drawings in line with the construction programme.
• Ensure all documentation complies with applicable building codes, regulations, standards and project requirements.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• 5-8 years of architectural/interior design experience, with a strong portfolio of completed interior fit-out projects.
• Experience with an interior fit-out contractor or design consultancy is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and relevant architectural/design software.
• Strong understanding of interior construction detailing, joinery, materials, BOQs, shop drawings and site coordination.
• Knowledge of building codes, regulations and sustainable design practices.
• Strong project-management, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects.
