Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru seeks an experienced SPP&ID Administrator to manage and support the SmartPlant P&ID environment across multiple projects. You will configure standards, manage upgrades, and ensure system reliability while collaborating with engineering and IT teams.

The role requires 3–8 years of SPP&ID experience, exposure to Oil & Gas or EPC projects, and hands-on database and application support. Willingness to work onsite in Bangalore is expected.

Job Summary:

The SPP&ID Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, and support of the SmartPlant P&ID (SPP&ID) environment used for engineering design and project execution. The role ensures system availability, data integrity, user support, standards compliance, and seamless integration with other engineering applications across multiple projects. The administrator works closely with engineering, IT, project management, and design teams to optimize engineering workflows, manage databases, troubleshoot system issues, and support digital engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration

• Administer and maintain the SmartPlant P&ID application environment.
• Configure projects, symbols, catalogs, and engineering standards.
• Manage software upgrades, patches, and system enhancements.
• Ensure system performance, availability, and reliability.

Database Management

• Create and maintain project databases.
• Monitor database health, backups, and recovery processes.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and security.
• Support data migration and database updates.

User Management & Support

• Create and manage user accounts, roles, and permissions.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end users.
• Conduct user training and onboarding sessions.
• Resolve application-related issues within agreed SLA timelines.

Engineering Data Management

• Maintain engineering standards, tag numbering systems, and project templates.
• Support bulk data loading and validation activities.
• Ensure compliance with project and client requirements.
• Generate reports and data extracts for engineering teams.

Application Integration

• Support integration with engineering applications such as:
• SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI / INtools)
• SmartPlant Foundation (SPF)
• SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL)
• SmartPlant 3D (SP3D)
• Document Management Systems
• Asset Information Management Systems
• Coordinate with IT and engineering teams during interface setup and maintenance.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Perform regular audits of project databases and engineering data.
• Develop and maintain administration procedures and work instructions.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering workflows and automation.
• Support digital transformation and engineering excellence initiatives.
