Job summary

Quest Global is looking for an experienced AutoCAD Drafter in Bengaluru, India. The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering degree and 6 to 8 years of experience in the design or EPC industry, specifically in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical sectors.

Your role will involve utilizing AutoCAD for drafting, participating in design reviews, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Excellent communication skills are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years of experience in the design/EPC/Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industry.
• Familiarity with the tagging philosophy and PID blocks.
• Experience in preparing project lessons learnt documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Knowledge in AutoCAD blocks, attributes, working with model space and layout space required. Well versed in 2D AutoCAD tool application.
• Previous work experience as an AutoCAD drafter and must have P&ID drafting experience.
• Must understand the tagging philosophy and PID blocks, instrument constructs for various standards.
• Knowledge or working experience in the process engineering drawing deliverables such as PFD, P&ID and 2D Configuration GA drawings.
• Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Process and Water industry experience and design knowledge of equipment layout, piping layout, are added advantage.
• Review the design change requests received from site and make necessary changes if required in design without compromising the codes and standards.
• Ensure that project lessons learnt document is prepared for all projects and subsequently necessary actions like standards and guidelines implemented.
• Participate in the project close out meeting and communicate the lessons learnt to all the disciplines and vice versa.

Required Skills (Technical Competency)

• Mechanical Engineering degree.
• 6 to 8 years of experience in related industry (Design/ EPC/ Oil and Gas/ Petrochemical industry).
• Assist with promoting best practice internally.
• Experience working on Tools/ Software: AutoCAD, Plant 3D and Solid works.
• Design experience in P&ID, isometric drafting and 3D plant modelling using Plant 3D, PDMS.

Desired Skills

• Experience in an engineering position in Oil and gas/ Petro-chemical.
• Drafting using AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of SPPID and piping design will be added advantage.
• Good Communication skills - Makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens effectively; clarifies information as needed.
• Strong written communication skills as well as routine interactions with Project teams.
