Job summary

Nordex Group in Chennai is seeking an experienced Wind Turbine Gearbox Engineer to join our drivetrain team. You will perform borescope inspections, support lubrication topics, and provide technical service for wind farms.

The role requires 5+ years working with wind turbine gearboxes, a mechanical engineering degree, strong data skills in Excel, and the ability to manage cross‑functional tasks and SharePoint resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with wind turbine gearboxes.
• Strong analytical and data manipulation skills in Excel.
• Willingness to undergo a high-level pre-employment medical examination.

Responsibilities

• Strong technical knowledge of gearbox and drivetrain components.
• Borescope inspections of complex gearboxes.
• Provide drivetrain technical support and lubrication topics.
• Understand condition monitoring systems.
• Inspect and assess turbine condition including fault diagnosis.
• Climb wind turbines safely and perform inspections.
• Manage Service Now Tickets and maintain documentation.
• Maintain Drive Train Support SharePoint resources and inspection reports.

Job description

YOUR TASKS

• Strong technical knowledge of gearbox and drivetrain components
• Hands-on experience performing borescope inspections of complex gearboxes
• Practical experience providing drivetrain technical support and Lubrication topics
• Basic understanding of condition monitoring systems
• Ability to inspect and assess turbine condition (fault identification and diagnosis)
• Physically capable and willing to climb wind turbines
• Manage and provide technical support for Service Now Tickets.
• Support the maintenance and continuous update of the Main Component Priority Watchlist
• Ability to work independently with a proactive approach
• Oversee and maintain Drive Train Support SharePoint resources, including Inspection report management, Regional documentation management.
• Gearbox Oil Sample Manage gearbox oil sampling and provide technical recommendations to wind farms
• Data Monitoring & Analysis Perform NC2 data monitoring and collection

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with wind turbine gearboxes
• Proven experience in project coordination or similar role
• Strong analytical and data manipulation skills in Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Willingness to undergo a high-level pre-employment medical examination
• Advanced Microsoft office skills
• Understanding technical background
