Job summary

LANXESS Deutschland GmbH in Thane (India) is seeking an IT professional for SAP ABAP development with focus on S/4HANA. The role involves building advanced ABAP objects, CDS views and OData services, while mentoring junior SAP developers and contributing to UI5 deployments.

The position requires good English, a background in SAP ABAP development, and experience in debugging, design reviews and performance optimization. Partially remote work arrangements apply within our IT team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with functional streams to translate requirements into technical specs.
• Mentor junior SAP developers with technical guidance.
• Build and maintain RICEFW objects using ABAP, CDS views, and OData services for SAP S/4 HANA.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure quality, security and best practices.
• Participate in unit, integration and UAT testing; track defects and ensure timely closure.
• Provide 2nd/3rd-level support for production issues and perform RCA.
• Implement SAP UI5 apps including custom extension development and role configuration.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks via SQL trace and runtime analysis.

Job Highlights

• Collaborate with Functional Streams to translate complex functional requirements into detailed technical specifications
• Mentor junior SAP developers, providing technical guidance on complex object developments
• Build and maintain advanced RICEFW objects using ABAP, CDS views, and OData services with focus on SAP S/4 HANA
• Conduct rigorous design assessments and code reviews to ensure quality, security, and adherence to best practices
• Participate in unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure high-quality deliverables. Track the defects and ensure timely closure to avoid any time delays.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd-level support for critical production issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure the relevant development issues do not re-occur
• Implement and deploy SAP UI5 applications, including custom extension development and configuration for user roles, catalogs, and groups
• Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through SQL trace, runtime analysis, code optimization and other performance enhancing measures
