Job summary

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of payroll experience in a medium to large organization.
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Payroll (mandatory).
  • Knowledge of payroll compliance, taxation, and statutory requirements for India and/or Australia.
  • Experience with Workday or SuccessFactors is an advantage.

Position Summary

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services for assigned countries or entities. This role manages end-to-end payroll processing, ensures compliance with legislative and company requirements, supports payroll projects, and collaborates with HR, Finance, external payroll providers, and employees to resolve payroll-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Operations: Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time for assigned countries or business units.
  • Validate payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, allowances, leave, and deductions.
  • Review payroll reports and reconcile payroll data prior to final approval.
  • Process off-cycle and manual payments where required.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including tax reconciliations and statutory reporting.
  • Manage payroll enquiries and requests through the ticketing system, ensuring tickets are actioned within agreed service level agreements and escalated where appropriate.
  • Compliance: Ensure payroll processing complies with relevant employment legislation, taxation, superannuation/social security, and company policies.
  • Maintain payroll records in accordance with audit and compliance requirements.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits by providing accurate documentation and explanations.
  • Monitor legislative changes and recommend process updates where required.
  • Systems & Data Management: Maintain payroll master data and ensure data integrity between HRIS, time and attendance, and payroll systems.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll system issues and interface exceptions.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and identify opportunities to improve data accuracy.
  • Employee & Stakeholder Support: Respond to employee and manager payroll enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work closely with external payroll providers to ensure payrolls are processed accurately on time and in compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and external payroll vendors to resolve payroll issues.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external payroll providers.
  • Coordinate with external payroll providers to investigate and resolve payroll issues, data discrepancies and system interface exceptions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify payroll process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Assist with payroll system implementations, upgrades, testing, and process documentation.
  • Contribute to standard operating procedures and knowledge articles.
Work Experience
  • 3-5 years of payroll experience in a medium to large organization.
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Payroll (mandatory).
  • Knowledge of payroll compliance, taxation, and statutory requirements for India and/or Australia.
  • Experience with Workday or SuccessFactors is an advantage.
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing accurately and on time.
  • Experience in Australian payroll terminations, including ATO, STP, and Payday Super.
  • Experience handling Full & Final Settlements (F&F) in India aligned with new labour codes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

06:00 AM to 03:00 PM IST

Education Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related discipline or equivalent related experience.
