Position Summary

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, statutory compliance, payroll reporting, and HRIS data management across the APAC region. You will work closely with HR, Finance, external payroll vendors, and global stakeholders to ensure smooth payroll operations, compliance with local regulations, and a positive employee experience. This role will also administer employee benefits, while optimizing payroll processes and controls using industry best practices to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities
Regional Payroll Processing, Reporting and Compliance
  • Own end‑to‑end payroll processing across the APAC region.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and salaries are paid on time.
  • Review and validate payroll inputs such as new hires, exits, salary revisions, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Manage full and final settlements for exiting employees.
  • Work with external payroll vendors where applicable and ensure service accuracy and timelines.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
  • Act as the single point of contact for employees and external stakeholders for effectively responding to queries and requests.
  • Ensure full compliance with payroll laws and statutory requirements in each country.
  • Manage statutory filings and payments such as PF, TDS, Superannuation, CPF, and other local tax and social security requirements.
  • Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll compliance activities are completed on time.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits and ensure proper documentation.
  • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and journal entries for Finance.
  • Support payroll accruals, budgeting, and financial closing activities.
  • Maintain payroll dashboards and provide reports to HR, Finance, and leadership.
  • Ensure payroll data is accurately reflected in finance and HR systems.
HRIS And Benefits Administration
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of payroll data (including employee data, compensation, and benefits data) in HRIS systems (Workday, ADP, or GreytHR).
  • Support HRIS reporting and payroll‑related system updates.
  • Support administration of employee benefits such as insurance, retirement plans, superannuation, and flexible benefits.
  • Coordinate with benefits providers and ensure correct payroll deductions and reporting.
  • Support benefits reconciliation and reporting.
  • Enhance employee experience by regularly incorporating industry best practices to attract and retain talent.
Stakeholder and Employee Support
  • Act as the main point of contact for payroll queries across the APAC region.
  • Support employees, HR, and managers with payroll, tax, and benefits‑related questions.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, Legal, and global teams to ensure smooth payroll operations, HRIS and benefits operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge and experience in payroll processing and statutory compliance across the APAC region.
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems such as Workday, ADP and/or GreytHR.
  • Good knowledge of payroll accounting, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential payroll information.
  • Ability to work independently and manage regional responsibilities.
Experience, Education, and Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or related field.
  • 8 to 12 years of payroll experience, with strong experience in India payroll.
  • Experience managing payroll for Australia, Singapore, and New Zealand is highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a regional or global payroll role is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with payroll vendors and global payroll environments is an advantage.
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as Workday, ADP, GreytHR, Keka, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Experience supporting payroll audits and compliance.
