Job summary

Genpact in Chennai invites applications for the role of Record to Report. The position is based in Chennai and follows a Work From Office model with US shift timing.

You will work within a service delivery team ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of reporting activities. The role requires strong knowledge of tax compliance and accounting, with ERP exposure to PeopleSoft and Workday, plus advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance/Accounting; CMA/CA Inter preferred.
• Experience in tax compliance, especially indirect taxes (VAT) and income taxes.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• ERP skills: PeopleSoft and Workday; MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compliance audits, risk assessments, and control reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Develop, implement, and monitor compliance frameworks that strengthen governance and minimize operational risks.
• Identify potential risk exposures, recommend mitigation strategies, and support execution of corrective action plans.
• Provide subject matter guidance to business teams on compliance issues, regulatory changes, and risk controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed compliance practices and resolve risk-related concerns.
• Prepare accurate compliance reports, documentation, and dashboards for management and regulatory reviews.
• Deliver training sessions and awareness programs to promote compliance culture and best practices across teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors/Masters in Finance/Accounting. CMA/ CA Inter
• Experience in tax compliance, specifically in indirect taxes (VAT) and income taxes, is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• IT skills: ERP (People soft/Workday), MS Office – Preferably Peoplesoft and Workday ERP
• Strong Excel skills (Pivot, VLOOKUP, Graphs)
• Fair communication skills
