Job summary

Sunlane Cleantech in Kochi is seeking a hands-on Project Leader to drive end-to-end residential rooftop solar deployments across Kerala. You will take confirmed sales orders and ensure installation, commissioning and grid connection while upholding safety and quality.

You will lead field supervisors, coordinate with external vendors, manage regional inventory, and liaise with KSEB for net-metering approvals and subsidy claims.

Qualifications

• Education: B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 6 to 10+ years in solar project management, with 2+ years leading residential or rooftop installations.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Kerala electrical safety rules, DISCOM net-metering, subsidy guidelines.
• Leadership: Hands-on operational leader balancing timelines and field audits.

Job description

We are expanding our residential rooftop solar operations across Kerala and need a practical, hands-on Project Leader based in Kochi. Your main job is to take confirmed residential sales orders (mostly premium 3kW to 5kW residential systems) and get them installed, commissioned, and connected to the grid quickly without compromising on safety or structural quality.

You will be actively managing our field supervisors, keeping external installation vendors in line, tracking local inventory, and dealing directly with KSEB to get net-meters approved and commission solar projects. Prior experience managing residential rooftop solar projects is mandatory.

What You Will Actually Do Day-to-Day:

• End to End Project Execution: Oversee the day-to-day deployment of multiple residential rooftop solar projects simultaneously across key Kerala districts. Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to premium quality standards.
• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and deploy a distributed team of site surveyors, field engineers, and installation supervisors. Establish strict safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality checkpoints.
• Vendor & (I&C) Management: Build, onboard, and manage a robust network of local Installation & Commissioning (I&C) teams and labor contractors. Negotiate rates, monitor daily progress, and audit their workmanship.
• Procurement & Inventory: Coordinate regional supply chain logistics. Manage structural, electrical, and component inventory (modules, inverters, structures, BoS) to ensure zero site-delivery delays while minimizing local warehousing overheads.
• DISCOM Liaisoning & Subsidy paperwork: Own the relationship with KSEB officials to ensure seamless site inspections, structure approvals, and fast net-metering synchronization. Ensure error-free documentation for government subsidy claims.

What We Are Looking For:

• Education: B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 6 to 10+ years in solar project management, with at least 2+ years explicitly leading high-volume residential or commercial rooftop solar installations.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Kerala electrical safety regulations, DISCOM net-metering procedures, and national portal subsidy guidelines.
• Leadership Style: A hands-on operational leader who split time between tracking timelines via project management tools and doing high-audit site visits in the field.
