Role Overview

We are looking for an Assistant Manager – Design to support design engineering for large-scale ground-mounted solar projects. The role involves design development, layout review, technical coordination, design optimisation, team guidance and timely delivery of engineering outputs for utility-scale solar projects. This position is suitable for candidates with strong solar PV design experience and hands‑on exposure to 50 MW to 100 MW ground‑mounted solar projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Design team for utility-scale and ground‑mounted solar projects.
• Develop, review and approve system designs, layouts, drawings and technical deliverables.
• Provide technical inputs for feasibility studies, preliminary design and detailed engineering.
• Ensure design compliance with applicable national and international standards, codes and best practices.
• Coordinate with Project Execution, Procurement and other internal teams to maintain design intent during execution.
• Optimise system designs for performance, cost efficiency and constructability.
• Guide team members on design tools such as PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope, ETAP and MS Office.
• Monitor design progress to ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables.
• Mentor and train junior engineers to strengthen the design function.
• Participate in technical discussions with clients, consultants and regulatory authorities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Timely completion of design drawings, layouts and engineering deliverables.
• Accuracy and quality of solar PV system designs.
• Compliance with IS/IEC standards, CEA guidelines and DISCOM/grid requirements.
• Design optimisation for performance, cost and constructability.
• Effective coordination with Project Execution, Procurement and cross-functional teams.
• Timely technical support for client, consultant and regulatory discussions.
• Development and mentoring of junior design team members.

Skills Required

• Strong understanding of solar PV technology, electrical systems and grid integration.
• Hands‑on experience in ground‑mounted solar projects of 50 MW to 100 MW or above.
• Proficiency in design tools such as PVsyst, AutoCAD, ETAP, Helioscope and MS Office.
• Knowledge of IS/IEC standards, CEA guidelines and DISCOM/grid requirements.
• Ability to review layouts, drawings, calculations and technical design documents.
• Team leadership, workload planning and design delivery management skills.
• Strong communication and coordination ability with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with experience in utility‑scale solar, ground‑mounted solar, solar PV design, electrical design, grid integration and large‑scale renewable energy projects will be preferred.
