Role Description

The Solar Design Engineer will work on-office/site in Vadodara in a full-time capacity, designing rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting site assessments, performing load and generation calculations, selecting system components, and preparing detailed electrical and PV layouts using relevant design software like PVSYST, AUTOCAD & SKETCHUP. The role involves preparing technical drawings, single-line diagrams, bills of materials, and specifications, as well as ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and utility requirements. The Solar Design Engineer will collaborate with sales, project management, and installation teams to optimize system performance, provide technical support, and resolve design-related issues during project execution. The position also includes updating documentation, maintaining design records, and contributing to continuous improvement of design processes and best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the Solar Industry and Solar Power fundamentals, including technologies, standards, and typical applications.
• Hands-on experience with Solar Systems design, configuration, and performance evaluation for rooftop and ground-mounted installations.
• Proficiency in PV Design, including system sizing, shading analysis, string configuration, and use of PV design software.
• Competence in Electrical Design related to solar projects, including cable sizing, protection coordination, and preparation of single-line diagrams.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (such as IEC, NEC, local utility guidelines) and basic knowledge of grid-interactive systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, use AUTOCAD, PVSYST & SKETCHUP, and prepare accurate technical documentation.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively on-site with cross-functional teams.
• Good communication skills and readiness to visit project sites as needed for assessments and validation.
