Job summary

Premier Solar Systems is seeking a senior process engineer to drive SOP development and standardization for manufacturing equipment and advanced solar technologies.

You will lead DOE planning, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure robust quality systems and successful technology transfer for next-generation solar cells.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering.
• Lean/Six Sigma certification is a plus.
• Experience in solar cell technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead SOP development and standardization for manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Plan and review DOE experiments; ensure robust execution and data-driven reporting.
• Govern process docs: PFDs, WIs, SOPs, MQPs, SPC records, ISO docs.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the development, standardization, review, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing equipment and advanced process technologies, in collaboration with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
  


• Drive process development and optimization initiatives by planning, reviewing, and approving experimental plans and Design of Experiments (DOE), ensuring robust execution, data-driven analysis, and timely reporting of outcomes.
  


• Ensure compliance and governance of process documentation systems, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Work Instructions (WIs), SOPs, Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQPs), Statistical Process Control (SPC) records, Risk Management Reports (RMRs), ISO documentation, and related quality systems.
  


• Provide strategic leadership and cross-functional coordination among Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning (PPC), Projects, Utilities, and Engineering teams to ensure stable, efficient, and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  


• Establish, monitor, and continuously improve process controls, quality systems, and operational standards to achieve manufacturing excellence, product reliability, and organizational objectives.
  


• Lead New Process Introduction (NPI) and technology transfer activities for advanced solar cell technologies, ensuring successful scale-up, qualification, and commercialization.
  


• Drive technology roadmap execution through process innovation and development initiatives focused on next-generation solar cell technologies, including PERC, Bifacial, Selective Emitter, and TOPCon platforms.
  


• Oversee process laboratory and metrology operations, ensuring optimal performance, calibration, accuracy, and utilization of analytical tools such as 4PP, Reflectometer, Lifetime Tester, SUN-VOC, and EL Testing systems. Manage technical engagement with OEMs and external vendors for equipment reliability and capability enhancement.
  


• Identify, prioritize, and lead continuous improvement, productivity enhancement, and cost optimization projects aimed at improving cell efficiency, yield, throughput, quality performance, and overall manufacturing competitiveness.
  


• Mentor and develop process engineering teams by fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, problem-solving, and operational discipline.
  


• Support business growth through capacity expansion, process qualification, technology benchmarking, and implementation of industry best practices

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Materials Science, Physics, or related discipline).


• Advanced certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, or Quality Management Systems will be an added advantage.
