Job summary

TekWissen India is seeking a Software Testing Specialist in Chennai for a hybrid role (4 days in office). You will define test strategies, design and execute tests and automation scripts, and report incidents with detailed test documentation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in IT with 3 years in testing, strong Java/TypeScript skills, and experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, and CI/CD. Familiarity with Jira and API testing is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years in IT with 3+ years in testing.
• Strong programming skills in Java and TypeScript, with Selenium & Playwright automation.
• Experience with BDD (Cucumber), CI/CD, and test management tools (JIRA).
• Knowledge of API testing (Postman) and browser automation.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement software test procedures, planning, designing, executing and optimizing test and automation scripts.
• Incidents triage, reproduce and report defects from bug hunts or customer reports, and document test cases and scenarios.
• Plan, design and execute repeatable tests and automation scripts for varying software and applications.
• Leverage test management tools for planning, development, execution, monitoring and reporting.
• Monitor, triage and elevate incidents related to software products per incident management processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and embed preventive actions via automated tests.
• Continuously study, optimize and automate test methods and tools.

Position Description

• Employees in this job function are responsible for defining and implementing software test procedures, planning, designing, executing and optimizing software tests and automation scripts.
• They are also responsible for incident triage, reproducing and reporting defects from bug hunt activities or customer reports, and documenting test cases and scenarios.

• Implement software test strategy, guidelines, policies and processes in line with organization vision, industry regulations and market best practices
• Plan, design and execute repeatable tests cases and automation scripts for various software and applications
• Leverage test management tools for test planning, development, execution, monitoring and reporting
• Monitor, triage and elevate incidents related to software products maintained by development teams in line with the organization’s incident management processes
• Conduct and manage root cause analysis for production incidents and embed preventive actions in the form of automated unit and integration tests
• Continuously study, optimize and automate software test methods and tools and automation scripts

• Specialist Exp: 5+ years in IT; 3 years in testing

Experience Preferred

• Proven experience in software testing, both manual and automated.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Typescript and experience with Selenium & Playwright automation.
• Familiarity with BDD methodologies and tools such as Cucumber.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with tools like JIRA.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools such as GIT Actions, Jenkins.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Additional Information

• Develop and execute automated test scripts using Playwright with Typescript and Selenium WebDriver with Java.
• Implement various automation frameworks, including BDD with Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG, and Data Driven Framework.
• Create and maintain BDD scripts using feature files in Cucumber.
• Utilize build automation tools such as Maven, npm for project management.
• Participate in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) with Agile-Scrum methodologies.
Manage project tasks and track progress using JIRA or any other test management tools.
• Checkout and check in source code using Git for version control.
• Experience in BrowserStack platform would be added advantage.
• Write and optimize XPath expressions to effectively identify web elements.
• Conduct various testing types including End to End Testing, Smoke Testing, Sanity Testing, and Regression Testing.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely and effective testing processes.
• Implement Continuous Integration (CI) practices using Jenkins.
• Perform API testing using Postman to ensure robust functionality.
