Job summary

Kauvery Hospital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is seeking a detail-oriented Software Test Engineer with 3 years of hands-on testing experience to join our technology team on-site. You will ensure quality, reliability, and performance of software products through structured manual and automated testing.

The role involves planning test activities, executing test cases, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to automated test scripts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3 years of relevant experience in Software Testing Manual and/or Automation.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Hands-on knowledge of test case design techniques, including Boundary Value Analysis and Equivalence Partitioning.
• Working knowledge of bug/defect tracking tools.
• Basic SQL skills for database and data validation.
• Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, user stories, and design documents to prepare comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Execute manual and/or automated test cases and report defects with clear reproduction steps.
• Perform Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, and UI/UX Testing.
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Managers to understand requirements and ensure quality delivery.
• Identify, document, track, and manage defects using bug-tracking tools.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Contribute to and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks, where applicable.
• Perform basic database validation using SQL queries.
• Ensure timely completion of testing cycles within release timelines.
• Prepare test summary reports and communicate quality risks to relevant stakeholders.
