Job summary

Barracuda is seeking a Software Senior Engineer in Bengaluru to join a cross-functional Agile team. The role focuses on designing and delivering backend platform services using TypeScript, PHP, and Laravel, with emphasis on performance, security, and reliable delivery.

You will work closely with product managers and developers to create features, troubleshoot issues, and ensure scalable solutions in a cloud environment (Azure/AWS). A strong background in IAM and API design is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency with TypeScript and PHP in a Laravel environment.
• Experience with IAM protocols and security considerations.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new features/enhancements for Barracuda platform.
• Troubleshoot, fix, and test product issues to resolve complex problems.
• Collaborate with Product Management to understand requirements and translate them into actionable tasks.

We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate Software Senior Engineer (SE) to join our cross functional Agile team as part of the platform organization.

As a Software Senior Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on helping us provide the best platform services possible. You will be working closely with product managers, and developers to design, develop, test, and deliver new and innovative features in a continuous delivery model. Tech Stack

• Proficient in TypeScript and PHP
• Very good knowledge and experience working with the Laravel framework
• Database management skills and prior experience with MySQL/PostGres
• Exposure to cloud technologies and services on Azure/AWS platforms
• Experience working with message brokers (SQS/SNS)
• Linux background experience (Shell/Bash scripting knowledge is a plus)
• Experience working with Docker and containers is a plus
• Working knowledge of RESTful API’s and Express is a plus
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile practices – working with source code management tools (Git)
• Proficiency in OAUTH 2.0 (Experience with LDAP, Microsoft 365)

What You’ll Be Working On

Design and develop new features/enhancements.

• Troubleshoot, fix, and test product issues to resolve complex problems.
• Work with Product management to understand business requirements for projects and remove gaps and ambiguity. Create technical tasks out of general requirements.
• Understand performance and security implications of how the design/code impacts the product.

What You Bring To The Role

B.E/B.Tech or Masters’ in Computer Science or related fields.

• 6+ years of relevant experience working as a backend developer.
• Self-motivated, quick learner, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and use a collaborative approach across boundaries to get work done.
• Experience with Identity and Access Management and related protocols
