Barracuda is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a cross-functional Agile team in Bengaluru. You will design, develop, and deliver on-premises and cloud-based email security products, collaborating with managers, customers, and developers to translate requirements into innovative solutions.

You will work on scalable backend systems, lead code reviews, and help shape architecture while staying ahead of industry trends and ensuring high coding standards.

Qualifications

• 6 to 8+ years in software development with PERL/C/C++.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and Linux systems.
• Experience with CI/CD, GitHub, debugging tools like GDB/Strace, and networking basics (SMTP/DNS/TLS).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC.

We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our cross functional Agile team.

As a Senior Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge on-premises appliance based and cloud-based email security products. You will be working closely with product managers, customers, and developers to design, develop, test, and deliver new and innovative features in a continuous delivery model.

What You'll Be Working On :

• Designing, developing, and optimizing robust backend systems using C/C++/PERL and other languages, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and performance.

What You Bring to the Role :

• Experience : 6 to 8+ years in software development in PERL/C/C++
• Database Proficiency : Strong knowledge of SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL and MySQL, including optimization techniques.
• DevOps and CI/CD : Experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and version control systems like GitHub.
• Debugging Skills : Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting using tools such as GDB, and Strace.
• System Knowledge : Familiarity with Linux operating systems and networking protocols (e.g., SMTP, DNS, TLS).
• Development Practices : Understanding of Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle.

Additional Skills :

1. Knowledge of front-end technologies (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, AJAX) is advantageous.
2. Experience in email security, cloud-connected appliances, or network security is beneficial.
3. Familiarity with scripting languages like Perl, Python, or Bash.
4. Familiarity with Golang is a plus

• AI Integration : Proven experience integrating AI/ML technologies into production environments, including working with LLMs, crafting effective prompts, or utilizing AI APIs to solve complex engineering problems.
