Job summary

Pri India It Services is seeking a Software QA Engineer to design and execute comprehensive manual and automated tests for web apps and REST APIs. The role emphasizes robust API testing, test plan creation, and close collaboration with developers to ensure timely defect resolution.

The candidate should have 2+ years in software testing with hands-on API testing, Java-based automation, and experience using Postman, SoapUI, and Rest Assured.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or Equivalent.
• 2+ years of industry experience in software testing, with strong hands-on experience in API testing and functional testing.
• Hands-on experience testing REST APIs using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools, including validation of payloads, headers, authentication, response codes, and business rules.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for web applications and REST APIs.
• Perform functional, regression, sanity, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit, and Rest Assured.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, and Rest Assured, including request/response validation, status code verification, schema validation, authentication, and error handling scenarios.
• Create and execute test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test data for API, UI, functional, integration, smoke, and regression testing.
• Log, track, verify, and report defects using tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or ALM, and work closely with developers to support timely resolution.
• Analyze regression execution results, prepare test summary reports, and communicate testing status, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders.

• Proven automation/scripting experience using Java with Rest Assured, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, or JUnit.
• Good understanding of STLC, SDLC, defect life cycle, Agile testing practices, and test documentation.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or ALM.
