Job summary

Kotak Mahindra Bank is seeking an SDE-2/3 to design, develop, and implement software solutions across the SDLC. The role involves collaborating with project managers, analysts, and teammates to translate requirements into robust microservices.

Candidates should have strong Java/J2EE or Python skills, experience with databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, Dynamo, MongoDB), and cloud/AWS or Azure, plus Docker, Kafka, and CI/CD. 3–12 years of experience in Mumbai/Bangalore/Hyderabad and a CS or IT degree.

Qualifications

• Strong background in JAVA, J2EE or Python with Spring stack.
• OOP concepts and design patterns.
• Data structures and algorithms understanding.
• Experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (Dynamo, MongoDB).
• Experience with Microservices and workflow orchestration (Camunda or Temporal).
• Docker/containerization knowledge.
• Messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ.
• CI/CD and DevOps tools.
• Cloud services (AWS or Azure).
• Familiarity with Domain Driven Design.
• Agile/Kanban processes; strong communication with stakeholders.
• Experience in product engineering/development; banking/fintech is a plus.

What We Ask For

• Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices.
• Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.
• Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues.
• Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre- defined architectural specifications.
• Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows.
• Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

Qualifications

• Should have strong technical background in JAVA, J2EE or Python, Spring stack
• Well versed with OOP’s concept and design patterns
• Good understanding of data structure and algorithms
• Strong experience with Database systems like RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle etc.) and NoSQL (Dynamo, MongoDB etc.)
• Experience in building Microservices and knowledge of workflow orchestration with Camunda or Temporal
• Knowledge of docker and containerization.
• Should have good experience in using messaging platforms like Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
• Knowledge in CI/CD Pipeline and Dev Ops tools
• Knowledge in Cloud Services such as AWS or Azure
• Should be familiar with Domain Driven Design
• Passionate and having depth knowledge in agile, Kanban process
• Should be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Manage scope, timelines, quality, goals and deliverables that supports business
• Good communications skills
• Prior work experience in the product engineering/development.
• Good to have prior experience in Indian Banking segment and/or Fintech.
