Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Java Full Stack & AI Assisted Engineering in Pune to lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade software. You will build scalable microservices with Java/Spring Boot and React/TypeScript, and contribute to AI-assisted SDLC using enterprise tools.

You will mentor engineers, participate in architecture reviews, implement secure coding practices, and help modernize platforms and pipelines in a fast-paced finance environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing, testing and deploying enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable, resilient and secure microservices-based solutions.
• Develop responsive and modern user interfaces using ReactJS and TypeScript.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and high-quality deliverables.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to solution design decisions.
• Ensure applications meet performance, security, reliability and operational standards.
• Design and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB/RDS, CloudWatch, IAM and EventBridge).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Support CI/CD automation and release processes.
• Drive adoption of secure coding practices and engineering standards.
• Perform code reviews and promote clean code principles.
• Implement automated unit, integration and regression testing.
• Ensure observability through logging, monitoring and alerting frameworks.
• Contribute to technical debt reduction and platform modernization initiatives.

• GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, SonarQube, Monitoring & Observability tools.
• Prompt Engineering, AI‑assisted SDLC, AI‑driven Test Generation and Code Quality Improvements.
• Agile / SAFe, TDD / BDD, Secure Coding, Design Patterns, Performance Optimization, API Security, System Design.
• Experience in Banking, Payments, Cards, Lending or Financial Services domain and Open Banking APIs.
• Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams.
