Job summary

Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited in Mumbai, Bengaluru, or Hyderabad invites experienced software engineers to join as SDE-2/3. The role focuses on designing, developing and delivering software solutions across the SDLC to support banking tech initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 3–12 years of hands-on experience with Java/J2EE or Python with Spring, microservices, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud tools. Strong problem solving, communication, and agile mindset are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Certifications: Java Certified Developer, AWS Developer or Solution Architect.
• Strong technical background in Java/J2EE or Python with Spring stack.
• OOP concepts, data structures and algorithms knowledge.
• Experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (Dynamo, MongoDB).
• Experience building microservices and workflow orchestration (Camunda/Temporal).
• Docker and containerization knowledge; Kafka/RabbitMQ messaging.
• CI/CD and DevOps tools; cloud services (AWS/Azure).
• Domain-Driven Design; Agile/Kanban; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement software solutions.


• Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices.


• Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.


• Identify or troubleshoot application code‑related issues.


• Take an active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre‑defined architectural specifications.


• Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows.


• Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in Java, J2EE or Python with Spring stack.


• Well versed with OOP concepts and design patterns.


• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.


• Strong experience with database systems such as RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.) and NoSQL (Dynamo, MongoDB, etc.).


• Experience building microservices and knowledge of workflow orchestration with Camunda or Temporal.


• Knowledge of Docker and containerization.


• Good experience using messaging platforms like Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.


• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.


• Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS or Azure.


• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design.


• Passionate and having deep knowledge of agile, Kanban processes.


• Effective communication with stakeholders.


• Ability to manage scope, timelines, quality, goals and deliverables that support the business.


• Prior work experience in product engineering/development.


• Good to have prior experience in the Indian Banking segment and/or fintech.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field of study.


• Good to have certifications: Java Certified Developer, AWS Developer or Solution Architect.
