Job summary

FundsIndia is seeking a passionate Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) to join our Bangalore engineering team. The role focuses on building scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot, with emphasis on payments, KYC workflows, and customer onboarding.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced SDE2 or early SDE3 who enjoys solving complex problems and mentoring 3–4 junior engineers. A strong foundation in backend architecture and RESTful design is required.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8/11/17) and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience in Microservices Architecture.
• Experience in Payments domain.
• Experience building or enhancing KYC workflows.
• Experience in User Onboarding and customer lifecycle journeys.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend system design.
• Excellent coding, data structures, algorithms, and logical problem-solving skills.
• Experience writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
• Exposure to SQL databases and performance optimization.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance payment processing, KYC, and user onboarding platforms.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Write clean, reusable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and performance.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design discussions.
• Mentor 3–4 junior engineers, providing technical guidance and promoting engineering best practices.
• Drive continuous improvements in code quality, scalability, and development processes.
