Job summary

Optum India in Pune, India, seeks a software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications aligned with product requirements and engineering standards.

The role involves collaborating with Product, QA, and Operations to deliver high-quality, secure, scalable code and to support build, deployment, monitoring, and production activities within an Agile framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on software development with Java.
• Experience in Agile teams and delivering via CI/CD with modern tools.
• Solid understanding of OO design, coding standards, testing, and Angular.

• Participate in requirements analysis and translate business needs into technical solutions; implement high quality, secure, scalable code.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams including Product, QA, and Operations to deliver committed work items.
• Support build, deployment, monitoring, and production activities while adhering to Agile delivery practices.
• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, including changes to work location, team assignments, and flexible work arrangements.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and components in alignment with product requirements and engineering standards
• Participate in requirements analysis and translate business needs into technical solutions. Implement high quality, secure, and scalable code following established design, coding, and testing practices
• Collaborate with cross functional teams including Product, QA, and Operations to deliver committed work items
• Support build, deployment, monitoring, and production support activities while adhering to Agile delivery practices
• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of hands-on software development experience with proficiency in Java and enterprise application development
• Experience working in Agile teams and delivering software using CI/CD pipelines and modern development tools
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design, coding standards, testing practices and Angular
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and contribute to high quality, scalable solutions
