Job summary

Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company, Hyderabad, India, is seeking a software engineer with 3+ years of coding experience in C# and MS SQL to join an agile engineering team delivering scalable backend and frontend solutions.

You will work on REST API development, containerization, serverless architectures, and observability, perform code reviews, design reusable components, and apply DevOps practices to drive quality and deliver new functionality.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of coding experience with one C# and MS SQL with a willingness and ability to learn new ones
• Experience with two or more of: CI/CD tools, REST API development, serverless architecture, containerization, application observability, messaging/stream architecture
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals: unit testing, code reviews, Agile and DevOps

Responsibilities

• Contribute code, tests, automation, application design and architecture to an agile team of engineers working across the application stack and portfolio
• Participate in a scrum team to refine user stories and develop acceptance criteria to achieve business outcomes
• Solve technical problems to discover solutions at any level of the stack (backend, frontend, database and infrastructure)
• Perform code reviews for team members
• Design reusable components, frameworks, and libraries
• Influence or provide input to forecasting and planning activities
• Using AI tools to enhance productivity and deliver new business functionality
