Job summary

Optum India is seeking an experienced Java/Spring Boot developer to design, build, and optimize enterprise applications. You will deliver RESTful APIs and microservices, deploy cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure, and integrate AI capabilities into business applications while collaborating across product, architecture, and DevOps teams.

The role requires 5+ years in software engineering with Java/Spring Boot, 3+ years on Azure, and strong SQL Server skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate or Postgraduate in Computer Science/Engineering/Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with Java and Spring Boot.
• 3+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
• 3+ years of experience working with MS SQL Server, including schema design, performance tuning, and query optimization.
• 3+ years of experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• 3+ years of experience using Git and automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate with product owners, architects, business analysts, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards, security, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance improvements.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and release management activities.
• Create technical documentation and contribute to architectural discussions.
• AI User and capable of using AI tools
• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering and enterprise application development using Java and Spring Boot
• 3+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure
• 3+ years of experience working with MS SQL Server, including schema design, performance tuning, and query optimization
• 3+ years of experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
• 3+ years of experience using version control tools (e.g., Git) and automated CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate or relevant cloud architecture certification
• Experience integrating AI-powered application components, machine learning API services, or cognitive tools
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)
