Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and optimize robust backend systems. You will own critical components, collaborate with product and frontend teams, and help shape our technical strategy.

As a Senior Developer, you will take ownership of designing, building, and optimizing robust and scalable software solutions. What you will do:

• Software Development ● Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions in alignment with business requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.

• Technical Leadership ● Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers.

What you will need:

• BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of programming experience in one or more of the following: .NET Core, C#, and/or Vue.js; React Native experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
• Deep expertise in API development, including RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, authentication and authorization, data serialization, and related technologies.
• Proficient in relational database fundamentals, with hands-on experience using PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or comparable database systems.
• Proven strength in designing scalable, asynchronous workflows and distributed microservices, with a deep understanding of Pub/Sub patterns, event sourcing, CQRS, and schema registries.
• Experience with version control systems, automated testing, and CI / CD.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects from conception to completion.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
