Job summary

ACV Auctions in Chennai, India are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team. You will design, build, and optimize robust software solutions and contribute to technical strategy.

As a senior developer you will mentor juniors, lead code reviews, and collaborate with product management, UX/UI, and QA. Candidates should have 5+ years in .NET Core/C#/Vue.js and a passion for scalable distributed systems.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years programming in .NET Core, C#, and/or Vue.js.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns and development methodologies.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, authentication and data serialization.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team. As a Senior Developer, you will take ownership of designing, building, and optimizing robust and scalable software solutions. Your expertise and leadership will drive innovation, mentor junior developers, and contribute to the overall technical strategy of our organization. We value practical software experience in addition to a thorough understanding of computer science fundamentals. The technologies you are familiar with are less important to us than your ability to solve complex software problems, apply software engineering best practices, and work in a collaborative work environment.

What you will do:

Software Development

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions in alignment with business requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Debug and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.

Technical Leadership

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers.
• Lead technical discussions, code reviews, and design sessions.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to improve our systems.

Architecture and Design

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical designs.
• Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems that meet performance and reliability standards.
• Optimize system performance and ensure solutions are future proof.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX/UI design, and QA, to deliver on project goals.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What you will need:

• BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of programming experience in one or more of the following: .NET Core, C#, and/or Vue.js; React Native experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
• Deep expertise in API development, including RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, authentication and authorization, data serialization, and related technologies.
• Proficient in relational database fundamentals, with hands-on experience using PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or comparable database systems.
• Proven strength in designing scalable, asynchronous workflows and distributed microservices, with a deep understanding of Pub/Sub patterns, event sourcing, CQRS, and schema registries.
• Experience with version control systems, automated testing, and CI / CD.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects from conception to completion.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
