Job summary

Ather Energy in Bengaluru is seeking a hands-on Senior Full Stack Engineer to own large-scale applications built on microservices. You will lead system design and set engineering standards, contributing as a key coder and reviewer to drive technical excellence.

You will work across Node.js and Java, ensure 99.9% service availability, and collaborate with product teams to translate roadmaps into robust technical solutions. Strong Cloud, CI/CD, and observability skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience building full-stack software solutions in production.
• Hands-on experience with mission-critical web platforms deployed in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical delivery of platform architectures and high-throughput full-stack services using Node.js, Java, and modern web technologies.
• Evaluate and guide microservice system designs to author resilient, reusable full-stack modules aligned with core product objectives.
• Own live services to ensure 99.9% availability, with robust monitoring, logging, and tracing for operational health.
• Define and champion engineering standards and peer reviews, focusing on efficiency, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Drive adoption of TDD/BDD and establish automated quality assurance suites.
• Collaborate with product leads to translate roadmaps into technical specifications and execution strategies.
• Formulate timelines with risk mitigation and proactive issue resolution.
• Mentor team members and promote clean code and modern software patterns.

Reporting to: Team Lead- Full Stack

About the Team and the Role

The Charging Infra team at Ather is responsible for building and running the software platforms behind Ather's charging network, with a focus on scalability, reliability and a seamless charging experience for riders.

This role is for a hands-on Senior Full Stack Engineer who will own large-scale applications built on a microservices architecture, lead system design, and set the engineering standards the team builds against. You will be a key individual contributor, driving technical excellence through direct coding, design reviews and close collaboration with the product team.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical delivery of platform architectures and high-throughput full-stack services using Node.js, Java, and modern web technologies.
• Evaluate and guide microservice system designs to author resilient, reusable full-stack modules aligned with core product objectives.
• Own live services to ensure 99.9% availability, integrating robust monitoring, logging, and trace instrumentation for operational health.
• Define and champion engineering standards and peer reviews, prioritizing system efficiency, security, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Drive adoption of TDD/BDD methodologies and establish comprehensive automated quality assurance suites.
• Partner with product leads and cross-functional teams to translate functional roadmaps into robust technical specifications and execution strategies.
• Formulate implementation timelines, ensuring seamless execution through consistent check-ins, proactive risk mitigation, and resolving engineering hurdles.
• Mentor team members, promote clean code practices, and advocate for continuous integration of modern software patterns and emerging technology platforms.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Engineering
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on expertise building full-stack software solutions, with demonstrated end-to-end responsibility for mission-critical web platforms deployed in production environments.

Must have Competencies

• Expertise in designing, building, and operating scalable microservices architectures deployed on AWS or Google Cloud platforms.
• Hands‑on application of test‑driven and behavior‑driven development (TDD/BDD) alongside automated testing frameworks.
• Implementation of application observability and telemetry for high‑availability systems using logging and distributed tracing tools.

Good to have Competencies

• Familiarity with Agile software development practices and frameworks such as Scrum.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated build processes, and deployment automation tools.
