Job summary

ZAGENO seeks a proactive Software Development Engineer II to own mid-to-large scale features and drive the efficiency and scalability of modern cloud-native systems. You will own design decisions, contribute to architecture, and help deliver secure, reliable software in an agile environment.

In this role, you will work with Python, FastAPI, Django, Kafka, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) to build modular services, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver mid-to-large scale features across the backend and API layers using Python, FastAPI, Django and Apache Kafka
• Design and implement modular and scalable backend services integrated with cloud-native platforms (Kubernetes, Helm)
• Build modern APIs and micro services that interface with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (ElasticSearch) data stores.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and automate deployment processes
• Proven track record building and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS, GCP
• Experience in vibe coding using AI Agents such as Codex, Claude or Gemini.

About the Role

We re looking for a proactive and experienced Software Development Engineer II (SDE-2) who thrives on owning mid-to-large scale features and improving the efficiency and scalability of modern cloud-native systems. Youll be expected to take initiative, contribute to architectural design, and play a key role in delivering secure, reliable, and high-performing software in an agile, collaborative environment.
