Job summary

Alike is seeking a Social Media Growth Intern for Instagram & YouTube in Gurgaon (India). You will support and, in many cases, lead Alike's social media, creator, and community initiatives across platforms, with a strong hands‑on focus on reels and short‑form video edits.

This full‑time internship is ideal for someone passionate about travel and digital storytelling, with 1–2 years of IG/YouTube experience, the ability to edit with CapCut or native editors, and a proactive, organized approach

Qualifications

• 1–2 years hands-on experience running or growing an Instagram and/or YouTube channel, brand, creator, or own, with real numbers.
• Comfortably edit reels/shorts using native editors or CapCut: hooks, cuts, captions, transitions.
• Full-time commitment for the internship duration (no part-time juggling).
• Postgraduate in Marketing, Communication, Media, or related field (or relevant project experience).
• Strong interest in social media trends, travel storytelling, and creator ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Research trends and formats across India, UAE, and UK audiences.
• Assist in planning and managing content calendar for Instagram and YouTube.
• Contribute ideas, scripts, and briefs for reels, stories, polls, carousels, and shorts.

The Role

We're not hiring a scheduler. We're hiring someone who can crack the code on Instagram and YouTube and turn Alike's social presence into a genuine growth engine - as a full-time intern, with a real shot at making this permanent. You will support and, in many cases, lead Alike's social media, creator, and community initiatives across platforms, with a strong hands‑on focus on reels and short‑form video edits. This role is ideal for someone passionate about travel, digital storytelling, creators, and viral‑first content - and who has already put in the reps editing and growing content of their own.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Content

• Research emerging trends, formats, viral brand banter, and music across India, the UAE, and UK audiences.
• Assist in planning and managing the content calendar across Instagram and YouTube.
• Contribute ideas, hooks, scripts, and briefs for reels, trial reels, stories, polls carousels, static posts, and shorts.
• Edit reels and shorts end‑to‑end using native in‑app editors (Instagram Edits/CapCut) — trimming, pacing, captions, transitions, trending audio sync.
• Support content scheduling and ensure timely publishing.
• Maintain and organise asset libraries, tagging high‑performing content for reuse.

Creator & Partnership Support

• Research and shortlist relevant influencers, creators, and brand partners (domestic & global).
• Assist with outreach, database management, and response tracking.
• Coordinate with creators to ensure timely and quality content delivery.

Community & Reputation

• Assist in managing communities across Instagram, YouTube, Threads, Reddit and niche channels.
• Engage with audiences via comments, DMs, UGC encouragement, and referral initiatives.
• Support outreach for passes, review programs, and travel storytellers.
• Research & monitor brand mentions and reviews; draft initial ORM responses and escalated when required.
• Assist in planning and executing brand/creator shoots (logistics, schedules, call sheets).
• Support on‑ground events, activations, and community initiatives when required.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience running or growing an Instagram and/or YouTube channel, brand, creator, or your own, with real numbers to show. This is a must‑have, not an ice‑to‑have.
• Comfortably edit reels/shorts by yourself using native platform editors or CapCut: hooks, cuts, captions, trending audio.
• Able to commit full‑time for the internship duration, no part‑time, no juggling this alongside another job, course, or internship.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed postgraduate in Marketing, Communication, Media, or related field (or relevant project experience).
• Strong interest in social media trends, travel storytelling, and the creator ecosystem.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Proactive, creative, and comfortable in fast‑paced environments.
• Familiarity with social analytics and publishing tools is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with a global creator‑led travel brand.
• Exposure to influencer & creator marketing, community building, and social growth strategies.
