Job summary

Whirlwind is seeking a Social Media Associate to craft content for a range of clients, including podcast marketing and video work. You will manage client profiles across Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and more, writing tailored captions and engaging audiences while staying on brand.

You will research trends, track growth, and report results, with strong editing and proofreading skills. A graduate in Marketing or related field is preferred, with 6–12 months of experience and comfort

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of related experience in social media.
• Graduate in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Art or Business preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong editing and proofreading skills.
• Detail-oriented knowledge of social media: Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, etc.
• Comfortable picking up basic video editing or design tools (CapCut, Canva) when needed.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Research social media trends, tools and platform updates, and recommend how clients should use them.
• Reply to comments and messages, and engage with audiences on the profiles we manage.
• Track growth and report on impact of social media efforts with clear reasoning.
• Support podcast marketing for select clients: identify segments for shorts and write platform-specific captions.
• Research thumbnail trends and reference styles, and brief the design team on click-driving ideas.
• Help edit shorts and basic video content when required, coordinating with editors.
• Put together simple social media videos using stock footage for clients without raw material.
• Communicate directly with clients, and coordinate with design and editing teams on deadlines.

Are you plugged into Instagram trends? Facebook savvy? Quick with a Tweet on X? Above all, can you engage audiences across different verticals? We're looking for a Social Media Associate to join Whirlwind and create content for a range of clients, including some exciting work in podcast marketing and video.

What You'll Do

• Create, monitor and manage client profiles and pages across Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube and more
• Write and post captions, Tweets, updates and other copy, tailored to each platform rather than copy-pasted across them
• Research social media trends, tools and platform updates, and recommend how clients should use them
• Reply to comments and messages, and actively engage with audiences on the profiles we manage
• Track growth and report on the impact of social media efforts, with a clear sense of what's working and why
• Support podcast marketing for select clients: help identify which segments should become shorts, write platform-specific captions and Tweets, and support distribution
• Research thumbnail trends and reference styles, and bring ideas to our design team on what tends to drive clicks
• Help edit shorts and basic video content when required, coordinating with our editing team but able to pitch in directly if timelines are tight
• Put together simple social media videos using stock footage for clients who don't have raw material to work with
• Communicate directly with clients, and coordinate with the design and editing team on deadlines and deliverables
