Job summary

Jindal Stainless Limited in India seeks a seasoned Mechanical Maintenance professional for the Steel Melt Shop (SMS). You will perform preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance on SMS mechanical equipment and supervise EOT crane systems to ensure smooth plant operations.

The ideal candidate holds Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 10–15 years of SMS maintenance experience, hands-on EOT crane work, and strong troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10-15 years of SMS mechanical maintenance experience in Steel Melt Shop.
• Hands-on EOT crane mechanical maintenance and operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of SMS mechanical equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems of EOT Cranes.
• Inspect, repair and overhaul gearboxes, bearings, shafts, alignment, wire rope, couplings.
• Execute planned shutdown maintenance and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
• Carry out equipment alignment, assembly, dismantling, and replacement of mechanical components.
• Analyze mechanical failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
• Coordinate with production and other maintenance teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
• Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and daily work reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, work procedures, and company policies.
• Recommend improvements to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance efficiency.

RequiredSkills

• Strong knowledge of SMSmechanical equipment and rotating machinery.
• Experience in maintenance ofgearboxes, Brake’s, Wire rope, alignment, bearings, shafts, couplings.
• Ability to read and interpretmechanical drawings.
• Good troubleshooting andproblem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of preventivemaintenance and shutdown planning.
• Basic knowledge of SAP PM is anadded advantage.
• RAC and CAPA prepared
• MTTR, MTBF and also ISOdocuments prepared.
