Job summary

Toppan Speciality Films is seeking an experienced Shift In-Charge/Supervisor to oversee high-speed slitting operations. The role involves ensuring adherence to slitting plans, managing manpower, and maintaining process quality and safety during the shift.

The incumbent will monitor GSM, treatment, and visual quality, supervise crane and conveyor operations, and ensure compliance with safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards. PPE usage is mandatory.

Qualifications

• ITI Fitter trade background.
• 10–15 years of hands-on experience with high-speed slitting machines.

Responsibilities

• Check and follow the slitting plan, balance settings, joints, and empty cores.
• Assess available manpower and assign work in coordination with Shift Supervisor/Engineer to meet production targets.
• Follow work procedures for process activities like cleaning, crane operation, machine operation, joint pasting, weighing slit rolls, and ERP data entry.

Responsible for

Responsible for quality & accuracy of various shift production jobs being carried out by him during the shift.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• To check and follow Slitting plan, balance settings, joints, empty steel cores in plant.
• To check the available manpower and assign the work to the team in coordinate with shift Supervisor/ Engineer to meet the shift production targets.
• To follow the given work procedure to carry out any kind of process related activities such as cleaning, Crane operation, Machine operation , Joint pasting, weighing of slit rolls, data entry in log books/ ERP etc. well within time.
• To wear PPEs as per safety instructions and to ensure personal, team and machine safety. To conduct shift team meeting along with shift Supervisor/ Engineer
• To ensure the final product quality as per QA/ Customer specs by checking GSM, Treatment and visuals and slit roll winding quality.
• Responsible for Handling of Jumbo rolls and slit rolls and WIP material.
• To collect the wastage and shifting to recycling machine.
• To maintain all BRC, 5S, Safety & Housekeeping standards SMED and Autonomous maintenance and fill all relevant checklists.
• To ensure smooth functioning Slitting machines, Conveyor and EOT Crane operation.
• To observe, inform and record any kind of abnormality in the final product and in machine performance. . And jointly work with Shift In charge to fix any issues. Ensure operators do their job as per JD
