Job summary

MTC Business in Maharashtra, India is seeking ITI-qualified Turners, Fitters and Welders with at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in a steel or heavy engineering plant. You will be responsible for fabrication, fitting, machining, maintenance and repair, while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will operate and maintain machinery, read engineering drawings, perform welding and fabrication tasks, and support continuous improvement to reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• ITI Certificate in Turner, Fitter, or Welder.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a steel, alloys, foundry, or heavy engineering manufacturing plant.
• Physically fit to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of measuring instruments, arc welding, gas cutting, grinding, drilling, and basic machining operations.
• Awareness of industrial safety standards and safe work practices.
• Ability to work in shifts and under production pressure.
• Good teamwork, discipline, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machines, tools, and equipment as per standard operating procedures.
• Perform turning, fitting, welding, fabrication, and assembly work according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant equipment.
• Repair and replace damaged machine parts, structures, and mechanical components.
• Inspect finished jobs to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
• Follow production schedules to achieve daily targets.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness and follow 5S practices.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, measuring instruments, and welding equipment.
• Adhere strictly to plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations.
• Report equipment abnormalities, safety concerns, and maintenance requirements to supervisors.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
