Job summary

Progress Software is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure reliability, security, and performance of customer-facing systems and infrastructure. The role spans development and operations, applying engineering principles to improve resilience and scalability.

You will work on security/compliance, cloud infrastructure across Azure/AWS/GCP, automation, observability, and incident response. Strong scripting, containerization, and IaC skills are essential for this busy, hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in a Senior SRE or similar role in production environments.
• Strong skills in Windows/Linux, scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell), and cloud services (ECS, EKS, S3, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, and container orchestration is preferred.
• Familiarity with security protocols, network concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS), and compliance frameworks (PCI, HIPAA, SOC2).
• Ability to debug, optimize, and automate to reduce operational toil.
• Excellent communication and proactive problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Security & Compliance: Safeguard systems and ensure PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC2 compliance.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Build and maintain scalable, secure services in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Automation & System Admin: Automate tasks, manage backups, and configure servers for high availability and DR.
• Monitoring & Performance: Implement observability tools and optimize performance.
• Incident Response: Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot incidents, lead postmortems.
• Collaboration: Work with developers, QA, and support in agile environments.
• Customer Provisioning: Handle complex customer account setups with Sales/Professional Services.
• Infrastructure as Code: Champion IaC with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

We’re looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our customer-facing systems and infrastructure. This role bridges development and operations, applying engineering principles to improve system resilience and scalability.

In This Role, You Will

• Security & Compliance: Safeguard systems against breaches and ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC2, and other standards.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Build and maintain scalable, secure services in Azure, AWS, or GCP using cloud-native tools.
• Automation & System Admin: Automate routine tasks, manage backups, and configure servers for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Monitoring & Performance: Implement observability tools, optimize system performance, and proactively address issues.
• Incident Response: Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot service incidents, and lead postmortem reviews.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA, and support teams in agile environments.
• Customer Provisioning: Handle complex customer account setups in coordination with Sales and Professional Services.
• Infrastructure as Code: Champion IaC practices using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.

• Willing to work in APJ Time zone [7:00 AM to 4:00 PM IST]
